A DAY IN THE LIFE WITH PK: FIRST STEP

FIRST STEP

Today rocked because our small group got to do our monthly serving opportunity at First Step Services, serving a great meal to some awesome homeless folks. It was cool to see at least five Kenosha citizens drop by the place while were there just to donate items - food, clothing, books - to the organization to help those on the streets.

Our menu today was:

Fried Chicken

Salad

Watermelon

New potatoes

Iced tea

I would like to encourage each of you -- your small group -- your family -- you and a couple of your closest friends --- to consider helping one day a month (or more) providing a meal for these great folks. The funnest part is going to serve them.

Anonymous said...: I didn't realize your small group still did that. I love First Step! I have been there several times. It's been a while, though. Maybe one Sat., I should just show up with a cake or some kind of dessert. They don't always get that, too. The people there warm my heart...they are very kind and appreciative. We used to take a boom box and play upbeat Christian music, too, and offer prayer for anyone who needed it.
