JEANS

For some reason I had my calendar marked today with a note saying "JEANS DAY BLOG, November 10, 2008."

I don't remember why I thought it was so significant to put it in my phone for today - but there it was - and now here it is -- November 10, 2014 -- six years later.

So I went back to read what I had written six years ago today.  Sure enough, it was the first time I actually wore jeans to church as a pastor and had the nerve to stand onstage and speak while wearing them.

It was so big I decided to write about it that day.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why I should care on November 10, 2014 - six years later.  But my calendar says I'm supposed to, so . . .

But I'll tell you, I'm stumped.

I re-read the 2008 blog post and it said:  "Don't worry.  I'm not going to be wearing jeans every Sunday now."

Well, that was pretty much a lie.  I've worn jeans almost every weekend since.  I did today as well, and I wasn't even onstage speaking.

It is what it is.

So - I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be celebrating today -- or cautious -- or happy or sad -- or what?!  Who can remember six years ago?

But if you want some literary kicks, feel free to wander back to the November 9, 2008 blog post here.

Funny (and thankful) how times change.

And be blessed.

Just for fun I randomly chose an old month and read the blog posts. It was Nov 2009. I have followed your blog since its inception. It is kinda fun to look back.

There is one blog post that comes to mind. Who knows when? You wrote about LL Cool J (the singer.) You said that you weren't cool like him. Lol...I think you are pretty cool. Not in a hipster way, but in an awesome and interesting way. Lol...I wonder if you vaguely remember that.

In the Nov posts, you had a pic of you and Elias at the piano. Time flies! He is growing so fast and so are my grandkids. We both are blessed with wonderful families and special memories.
