YOUR BLOG

This whole thing is kind of new to me - this whole BLOG thing. And I'm not running out of things to say or anything - trust me. But I was just wondering ---- if YOU were writing a blog, what would YOU write about?

Your daily life?
Current events?
Politics?
Flora and fauna?
The price of gas?
Relationships?
Religion?
God? (not the same as religion)
Social injustice?
Good grammar?

Come on. I really want to know. What subjects would you wax on? Tell me.

Funny you should ask... I actually did just that! But to answer your question... YES... probably would touch on most of your topics at some point along the way. The funny/interesting thing is, the Lord 'speaks' to us through them all - we just need to remain 'teachable' and listen... don't you agree? :)

Yes, most definitely. But if you have anything SPECIFIC, tell me about it.

Well, I doubt I would blog about my daily life! Honestly - who wants to read about how much trouble my vacuum was giving me or how long I had to wait in line at Woodman's?(Although your car-buying story was quite amusing, so there are exceptions to the rule). It would be interesting to hear your views on the current situation in Iraq. Why? Because pastors rarely talk about it. There are many regular folk who are wrestling with some serious feelings about the whole conflict(should they be for it? against it? neutral to it?)Not that your blog would provide instant knowledge for the masses, but it would be great to have sort of a virtual discussion about it once a week or so. And, if you really feel the need, throw in your latest exciting experience at Woodman's as well...

I have NEVER known Woodman's to be a DULL experience.

I think the title of your blog says it all. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PK. Each and everyday has so many elements that make it unique. The experiences, the trials, and the insights gained day by day are what makes your life unique. By being transparent you let all of us see life through your lens. Each day determines its own subject for discourse. I am really enjoying getting to know you better through your blog.

Specifically... you asked "But I was just wondering ---- if YOU were writing a blog, what would YOU write about?" and I said "I actually did just that!" - I should have said that I have just started a blog of my own.

Specifically... daily life... example: I saw a picture of a child's building block 'fortress' and the caption read "You cannot defeat me in my impenetrable fortress." and I instantly saw how that must look, from God's perspective, like our own attempts at protecting ourselves ... and how He must chuckle and shake his head. I find that He 'speaks' in some of the least expected ways - to me anyway! :-D

I forgot to mention... I'm off to Woodman's myself and I agree... that's NEVER a dull experience - nor is it without challenge (both physically and spiritually)!!!

Certainly, many folks just blog about whatever is on their mind . . . in a folksy sort of way.

Right now, I have three blogs, with three very different emphases.

1) NICKERS AND INK - This is primarily (my original) poetry - both inspiration and humor.

2) PRACTICALLY AT HOME - This is (presumably) helpful information for family, home and garden, and other real-life practicalities. Sometimes I put poems in here too, if they apply to relevant topics.

3) THE MANE POINT - This is a haven for horse lovers, filled with all sorts of horsey stuff. I often include poetry, photos and anecdotes here.

All three blogs frequently contain links to articles I have published elsewhere online. (Mr. GOOGLE loves those cross-links.)

Don't know if that helps.

I spent some time really thinking about this and I think I would like a blog that I could share trials/struggles that I had or was currently going through. I would do this for two reasons: 1) writing about such things helps to keep from holding everything in and who knows, maybe someone else has gone through a similar situation and has encouragement of how he/she made it through; and 2) I would hope that sharing the outcomes and blessings would help someone else who is currently struggling. So...I guess I would love to be able to have a place of encouragement that people can share their experiences, while helping others all at the same time. What kind of topics--just life. The only problem with this type of blog is....well, I tend to be very private and dont really share my trials with but a few people. Guess I would have to learn to let go :o)

Been reading several of your latest offerings. They are great reads - fun, thought-provoking, insightful - sounds like you! And reading the comments is enlightening, humorous, and interesting as well. Today I relate to D's response here - journaling has always been an excellent tool and this is just journaling in public...a little daunting, perhaps, but also has much potential for learning and growing and developing friendships. I was blogging out loud in my car all the way home from church today (I was driving by myself...) - talking to my children, reflecting on Ricky...I had a lot of good things to say, but now am too tired to recapture -perhaps another day. This morning was good - worship strong and invigorating, great to have the young people in choir, good interaction with some of them, scene point on and message even more so. Good, good way to spend a morning. KMB
