FORUM

This weekend was significant in the life of Journey Church as well as for our community.

We hosted the Hope Run Human Trafficking Forum, with guest Dr. Sandra Morgan.  

Dr. Morgan is recognized globally for her expertise in combatting human trafficking and working to end violence against women.  She is the director for the Global Center for Women & Justice.

As the main speaker for the Forum, Dr. Morgan imparted wisdom, knowledge and training on the topic of trafficking.  Also presenting were Sheriff David Beth, Chief of Police John Morrissey, Alderman Bob Johnson and other high-ranking city officials.

Katie Linn, co-founder and executive director of Milwaukee's Exploit No More led a session as well.

We recognize this problem of labor and sex trafficking as one that impacts our own city, closer than any of us ever imagined.  Let's pray that God continues to open doors for us to learn, act, respond and be part of the solution of women, boys and girls being trafficked - and to see the end to this abuse.

Journey Church services tomorrow will feature Dr. Sandra Morgan and Pastor Jason Butler (Transformation Church in Milwaukee and co-founder of Exploit No More) as speakers on this topic.
