BUTT

One of our mistakes as believers in Christ is that we seem to think God and satan are equal and they're duking it out in the heavenlies somewhere.  And at some point near the end of time God is going to get in a great sucker punch on the devil and He's going to defeat him at the last second.

But you have to understand something about satan.  Even he has to bow to God.

'The devil gets his butt kicked at the end.'

In fact, the devil gets his butt kicked at the end.  I'm probably not supposed to use the word 'butt,' but it just fits here.  He gets his butt kicked.  There, I said it again.

I know about this. I've read the end of the story.  The devil loses.  Big time.

And be blessed.

I don't even begin to imagine God slugging it out with Satan or anyone. I HAVE wondered why God lets Satan have such a hold on folks. Is it because we all have free will? God WANTS us to come to Him. There is no point in us being automatons and coming to Him because we are compelled to. I know I wouldn't want anyone to love me because they were programmed to. If they love me for who I am, then it feels great! Is God the same way? Why can Satan cast a spell and divert us to do what is wrong in God's eyes?

I happened to be reading some of the articles I receive each day and this was one of them. It is Pope Francis speaking. He is the perfect person to fill this position. Such a man of the people and a humble man of God. I just thought I might share it for everyone. Having read that, I feel very much so, that you, PK, are that type of pastor. Beautiful...

“How are we treating the people of God? I dream of a church that is a mother and shepherdess. The church’s ministers must be merciful, take responsibility for the people and accompany them like the good Samaritan, who washes, cleans and raises up his neighbor. This is pure Gospel. God is greater than sin. The structural and organizational reforms are secondary—that is, they come afterward. The first reform must be the attitude. The ministers of the Gospel must be people who can warm the hearts of the people, who walk through the dark night with them, who know how to dialogue and to descend themselves into their people’s night, into the darkness, but without getting lost. The people of God want pastors, not clergy acting like bureaucrats or government officials. The bishops, particularly, must be able to support the movements of God among their people with patience, so that no one is left behind……In life, God accompanies persons, and we must accompany them, starting from their situation. It is necessary to accompany them with mercy.”

You are far too kind in your personal assessment, but I am humbled and I thank you for your encouragement. Blessings.
