LIST

I wonder what would happen if I asked my congregation to tell me the top things they wanted in a pastor.  It's kind of a frightening thought because I don't know how many of them I'd measure up to.

Some of the things I think would make the list are:

1   Love the sheep
2   Cast vision with passion
3   Teach effectively and consistently
4   Have character and integrity
5   Work hard
6   Be transparent and open
7   Build a great team
8   Model everything you talk about

What did I miss?  I'm sure I missed something.

And be blessed.

I can tell you the ways I think are most important for me. This is just my list and everyone is different.

1. Love the sheep. Thank goodness for grace.

2.Teach effectively and consistently. I really do listen to what you say and advise. I like that.

3.Have character and integrity. I respect you for that. I never have to wonder if you are the same in private as you are in public.

6. Be transparent and open. One of the things I like about you the most. It's nice to see the human side. You don't have to be perfect all of the time and it's ok.

This other trait is work hard. You work harder than anyone I know. In my opinion you should slow down and take more time for yourself. Not that you WILL, but you really should. Ok, that's MY advice for a change this time around. :)

BTW, NO ONE can model everything you talk about. I wonder how many people could come close? We don't have saints...that's the Catholic Church. lol

The Holy Spirit will guide you, and he'll take care of the people through you. What does he tell you what is needed? Blessings:)

You know, when I say you work harder than anyone I know..I mean it. I don't think many people actually think about the work you do. Some of the things I know you do..and this most likely itn't complete. However you:

-Prepare sermons
-counsel
-respond to correspondance
-perform weddings, funerals and hospital visits
-attend various meetings and seminars
-missions
-write the blog most days
-various paperwork you have to attend to

Ugh, I am tired just writing this! You probably have more that I didn't think of. See, you deserve a break! :)
