INSIDE OUT

I was all set today to write about something spiritual and life-changing, but this got in my way. Come back tomorrow for that. I remember what I was going to say.

So anyhow ... today, first thing, I went to TARGET to pick up a few things I needed for church. I saw a couple of people I knew there and we chatted for a second or two. After that, I was off to STARBUCKS to meet some out-of-town ministry friends. We sat for about an hour and got caught up on what each other are doing. While there, a man from church came up from behind and put his hand on my shoulder and gave me one of these: "They let anybody in here, I see." I turned around to catch who it was and we shot some verbal barbs back and forth for a minute. After coffee, I went in to the office.

So I'm standing there talking to one of the staff when a pastor comes up behind me, lays his hand on my shoulder and says: "Do you always wear your shirts inside out?"

WHAT????!!!!!!

Yeah. All morning -- thru the TARGET conversations, thru the STARBUCKS breakfast, thru the hand-on-the-shoulder from behind, my SHIRT was INSIDE OUT - tags and everything! Embarrassing.

So whatever happened to you today that you wished had gone another way, I hope that makes you feel a little better now.

It happens to us all sometimes.

And be blessed.

Well, had I been working at Target today and seen you, I would have discreetly asked you about it. :) I can't believe all of your friends never said a word! My girlfriends and I always tell each other if something is off kilter. Of course, you ALL are terribly polite all of the time...lol. Stands to reason. :)

Do you have a one post per day limit? Why not post the spiritual post, as well? Now I am curious and want to hear it. Those are my favorites!

LOL. Yes. Years ago one of the staff pastors (who is no longer at KFA) used to tease me that I must regularly dress in the dark. He was referring to the trendy-styled clothes I often wore/wear that he didn't care for. But today, yeah -- I really DID dress in the dark. :)

But God has a sense of humor doesn't he? After all you were only at Target, Starbuck's and the office and not officiating something or meeting your daughters future in-laws. True friends love you even tho they already know you are not perfect. A friend might even love you enough to wear their shirt inside out just to make you feel better. But you wouldn't... and they shouldn't...not on purpose anyway! Acceptance is a wonderful thing, isn't it? It's right up there with love and forgiveness. You just know its there and you feel safe. It allows us the freedom to laugh 'with' instead of 'at' each other. But it really is much too over-rated. (see you at the poles Nov. 2012). Maybe God sees a time and place where two different shoes (I have done that) or an inside out shirt would be acceptable, and it makes Him laugh! Jesus knows us best and still loves us most. He can bring out the best or the worst in us. Someone shared a quote today--"we are where we are today because of 'obedience or disobedience'". Wasn't that true for Joseph, Gideon, Daniel, Jonah, David and even Job in the end? There are things God can't accept...because He knows they just aren't good for us.(Duet. 18:9-13). That is why I don't think He likes Harry P., sorry. BUT, He DOESN'T look at our appearance,(skin COLOR or age, gender, cool cars & phones, big diamonds, elequent speech, position or past sins), He doesn't have 'wrap his head around anything'. We all have some baggage and disfunction in our families. He knows everything.

He looks at our HEART.
1 Sam 16:7

We are all thankful for that.
And we are blessed,

Mary

That is awesome. This posting could be a blog entry all on its own. That's great stuff. Thanks.

PS - And I didn't say God likes Harry Potter, I said it was something we should not go around making judgments on others about. You have to work that out by your understanding of Scripture and conscience and walking with God in fear and trembling.

Good thoughts.

That's hilarious. I have DONE THAT.

But then, I have a doctor's note. In fact, I have a doctor's note for just about anything odd or klutzy I might do. That's the beauty of the MonSter. I can blame it for nearly anything - and usually legitimately.

See? Everything has a blessing.

Still, I remember being devastatingly embarrassed, years ago, after I couldn't help but mention to a certain pastor that he had missed a belt loop on an odd weekday in the office.

Even from 5'3", I could see that well-dressed 6'5" pastor blushing. (Sorry.)

PLANK, anyone? ;-)

(Can you hear it snapping?)

Funny comment you received in Target. Perhaps we will all feel that way in Heaven . . .

"They let ANYONE in here?"

Yep, they do - as long as we're with HIM.

Gotta love God's economy.

By the way . . . I had some fun with Harry Potter a while ago.
